Great And Effective Ways To Get Your Acne Under Control

By Steve Jones

Acne is an embarrassing problem. You can have control of your breakouts, even though at times it seems impossible. There are many natural remedies that work just as well as medications, sometimes better. Sometimes your body just needs proper skin care and the right nutritional balance to help acne go away for good. Take a look at these great hints.

If you are suffering from acne, make sure to limit your time in the sun. Sun exposure actually makes acne worse. The sun causes your skin to shed more than what's normal and it will further clog your pores, which will make your acne worse. If you absolutely must go outside, make sure to wear a wide brimmed hat and sun screen.

Hydrocortisone is a very effective natural treatment for acne. It will reduce the redness of any zit or cyst that you have. Do not use it too often or use too much of it. It can cause your skin to dry out and make your problems worse than they were before.

In order to reduce your acne it is important to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. When you do not consume enough water throughout the course of a day your skin becomes dehydrated. Dehydrated skin does not shed dead skin cells as effectively as hydrated skin. This can result in clogged pores and an increase in acne.

Getting the adequate amount of rest is an essential part of fighting acne. The body needs at least 6 to 8 hours of sleep, and that sleep time is when the body undergoes maintenance and repair, including repairs made to the body's immune system. The immune system helps fight off acne-causing bacteria, so keeping it well maintained is important.

See a doctor or dermatologist. If your acne is a real problem and nothing you have tried is working, it may be best to see a doctor about your problem. You may have to resort to using prescription medications or topical prescriptions to rid you of your acne problem.

If you wash your face at night and you notice a big pimple that is staring at you, try to ice it down before you go to bed. Just hold an ice cube on it for a few minutes and you may find that it does not look as swollen and red by the time you get out of bed in the morning.

If you are battling an acne breakout, use nutmeg and milk as a home remedy to ease your symptoms. If you mix the nutmeg and milk together, it will create a paste that you can apply to your blemish. In a short period of time, the paste will make the acne go away with a trace.

If you find acne to be a problem, be sure to keep your skin clean after exercising. Sweat that is allowed to dry and clog pores can cause acne. It is wise to clean the face as soon after each sweat session occurs, not allowing it the opportunity to block the pores.

If you travel often or do not have a bathroom in close proximity to where you are, make sure that you bring a hand sanitizer with you to reduce the amount of germs on your hands. This can help eliminate any bacteria transfer from your hands to your face, effectively helping to reduce acne.

You should be sure to keep your face clean, even if you don't have acne. Keeping a clean face can prevent acne breakouts and also help clear it up. Wash your face with warm water but try to avoid using soap that isn't for your face. Harsh soap can make irritation worse.

Working out is beneficial for the body, but it can often cause more breakouts. If you are prone to getting acne on your chest and back, switch to a body wash that contains salicylic acid. This is the main ingredient in several face washes. It will help unclog your pores.

Now that you know how to take care of your body and your skin in a way that helps to clear up your acne, don't hesitate to start. It may take a few weeks to see results, but once your body gets the right treatment, inside and out, you will see a fresh-looking face staring back at you in the mirror.
