People that suffer from acne may find them a burden and to some extent an embarrassment. Some people hold the notion that they cannot do something about the condition, but this is not so. Washing the face daily with soap, which people may take for granted, is one such effective technique. The soaps used are not the common soaps, but those that have sulfur. When one wakes up in the morning, they should do the first washing, with the second coming just before bed time. Force should not be used in the washing as this would encourage sebum production. This would stimulate acne growth.

People with long hair have the tendency of keeping them on their face somehow. Hair contains oils that will immensely contribute to the breakouts. As such, hair ought to be pulled off the face. Picking or squeezing the pimples would just make the situation to worsen. The act encourages production of sebum and also ruptures underlying membranes. When the membranes are ruptured, there is every likelihood that rate of infection is increased. Pillows and bedsheets also need regular cleaning because they have oils on them that may encourage infections.

The element zinc is among the most important in containing acne growth. It has antibacterial properties. Eating foods deficient in zinc would lead to breakouts. As much as possible it is recommended that one eats foods rich in the element. One other way of managing the condition is through application of honey on the affected areas twice or so in a week.
